PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

The system provides a quick and cost-saving solution for the construction of sports areas, children's playgrounds and rest areas.

The advantage of this system with rubber mat is that it enables an alternative firm surface layer to be created in places where no absolute value is attached to the classical use of concrete or gravel (urban development, green building, park design, etc.).

With its particular surface the system ensures full functionality, thus providing a long-term guarantee for the recommended uses (sport, recreation, vehicle crossing, etc.).

The essential element in the system is the ECO grid (plastic drainage system), which has an individual proportion of small grids measuring 330 × 330 × 30 mm. The resulting dimensions of the interlocked elements are 990 × 990 mm.

The ECO grid is designed for extreme loading and withstands repeated vehicle crossings with weights up to more than 33 tonnes.

In addition, the mat material used for the system allows for an exchange of heat.

PREPARATION OF THE SURFACE

The surface paving should preferably be stabilised preferably by positive locking. The surface should be of a specified evenness (minimum, vibrating plate 500 kg).
The most suitable materials for preparing the subsurface (base) are gravel (grain size/grading curve 0.5 - 2.0 mm) or rock dust. After the surface has been completed and tested, the ECO grid can be laid and connected with the plastic locking device (see above).

If the ECO grid is set in concrete, relevant protrusions can be ground off with a cylindrical grinding machine.
If, on the other hand, the subsurface should become permeable or loose so that the ECO grid no longer has any support, the ground is filled up with new rock dust or similar material and compacted again with a vibrating roller.
The aim is to ensure that the completely laid system is stable and even.

FINAL STAGE

After the ECO grid has been laid and locked, it is covered over with either elastic mats or elastic interlocking paving. The mats must be at least 20 mm thick and should be laid down in units of 500 × 500 mm.

Bonding should be done on the rear side of the mats, in the recesses provided for the purpose. We recommend that this should be done on the underside of the 500 mm × 500 mm mat on all 4 edges and in the middle. The amount of PU adhesive needed is about 100 g. After the bonding agent has been allowed to harden for about 12 hours, the surface is ready for occasional use. The result is positive – the surface does not only provide a hard frame but retains its very comfortable flexibility.

The surface can resist frost without swelling, rainwater is absorbed. The ECO grid functions in this case like natural drainage.

The ECO grid system together with the elastic rubber mat was used successfully in several projects as early as 2006.

Highly positive customer response has been received for a system which makes sparing use of resources and helps to protect the environment.
