TRAVETTO INPLACE-UTA is a tramway trackway system for embedded tracks in urban areas. The slab track system combines a monolithic concrete support slab with pre-assembled double rail support bodies for precise gauge retention and long-lasting use.

Slab track for tramway in the urban area

In urban traffic, high loads are generated by traffic, braking forces and fluctuating temperatures. Conventional superstructure types require regular tamping and lead to traffic interruptions. INPLACE UTA replaces the ballasted superstructure with a concrete carriageway construction. The result is a durable urban track system with smooth running and stable track geometry.

 

Construction and method

The Rail Slab Track System is based on a monolithic track slab with embedded twin-block sleepers. The double rail support bodies secure gauge and rail inclination already during installation. The slab track construction is carried out in top-down method. Special installation equipment is not required.

 

Precision without surveying effort

The high bending stiffness of the support bodies keeps the gauge stable. Even during lifting or transport, the geometry remains unchanged. Readjustments are eliminated. This reduces construction time and labour costs. The rail position is immediately correctly set and permanently stable.

 

Installation during short closure periods

For inner-city projects, construction time is decisive.
The system allows prefabricated track segments.
The elements are repositioned and subsequently undergrouted.
This creates a precise position without extensive site preparation.
This makes the system suitable for ballastless track refurbishment and short closure periods.

 

Adaptation to the urban environment

The ballastless track installation can be integrated into various surfaces:
