What is rail insulation in tramway and light rail construction?

Rail insulation mechanically and electrically separates the rail from the surrounding structure – for:

  • Vibration and structure-borne noise reduction
  • Stray current insulation (DIN EN 50122-2)
  • Corrosion protection
What are rail filler blocks?

Elastic moulded parts for the complete filling of the rail chamber. They enable:

  • Continuous elastic bearing
  • Reduction of peak loads
  • Effective structure-borne noise reduction

Why is stray current insulation crucial?

Continuous vs. discrete bearing – what is the difference?
